SAT
What is the SAT all about?
The SAT is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States.
According to the College Board, the SAT measures literacy, numeracy, and writing skills that are
needed for academic success in college. The test is designed to assess a student's readiness for
college by evaluating critical thinking and problem-solving abilities developed in high school coursework.
The SAT focuses on the knowledge and skills that research shows are most important for college
and career readiness and success. It tests Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math, with
an emphasis on problem-solving, analysis, and application of knowledge. The test connects to
classroom learning and provides a standardized measure that college admissions officers can use
alongside high school GPA, coursework, and other factors.
Primary Test Takers: High school students (typically in grades 11-12) who are
planning undergraduate admission in colleges abroad
